Get a hands-on introduction to making music with analog synthesizers!

In “Synthesizing Sound with Moog,” students will be guided through the Moog Werkstatt synthesizer, which is available for checkout at the Ask Us desk at both main libraries. The one-hour workshop provide a quick foundation and gets you immediately having fun making sounds.

The workshop takes place on Thursday, March 22, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Fishbowl Forum in the D. H. Hill Jr. Library. Please register in advance and arrive at least five minutes before start to reserve your spot. We will allow waitlisted and drop-in attendees to take spots five minutes before the event starts. We are reserving a few spots in this workshops for members of the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you would like to attend, please contact Marian Fragola at mgfragol@ncsu.edu.

Moog Music president Mike Adams (‘79) will also be visiting the Libraries to give an Amazing Alumni talk on Thursday, March 22, from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Auditorium n the D. H. Hill Jr. Library. After getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Adams has spent 15 years as president of Moog Music, the Asheville-headquartered company founded by Robert Moog. Adams will talk about his career after NC State and about Moog Music’s present and future.
